ok lemme tell you a thing about raccoons
I adore that all these raccoons are like “I respect that you don’t want me to take this, but I’m taking this.”
The Dancing White Lady is a great, big spider from the Namib Desert in southern Africa.
They spend their days hidden in underground burrows and emerge at night to hunt for insects and lizards which they find by detecting the vibrations of footsteps.
These hunting expeditions occur within a short range of the burrow entrance, but males can travel over 100 metres in search of a mate.
He communicates with the female via the timeless medium of dance. Tapping the ground outside her burrow sends down vibrations that ask her to come out, but not eat him. She doesn’t always oblige…

I may tweak this a bit, but I think this is finished enough for posting here. :)
THIS IS SO AWESOME.
Constantly distracted by the fear that I am going to forget the pregnant cat under my desk is there and accidentally kick her.
CAN YOU SLEEP LITERALLY ANYWHERE BUT DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF MY FEET? PLEASE???
OMG LOOK AT THIS THING
THIS IS THE FIRST TIME I’M SEEING A HUMMINGBIRD MOTH
OH MY GOD
IT’S SO FUCKING HAPPY TO BE ALIVE
“I’M A FLUFFY MOTH AND I AM OKAY WITH THAT”
IT’S SO CUTE
OH MY GOD
to be fair, pretty accurate
We call our girls ‘permakittens’ when people ask what it’s like having ferrets. Yesterday, I had to rescue one of them of them from a plastic bag.
Morrigan likes to sleep under my desk and yells loudly when she is left alone in a room. She is definitely a Siamese mix, if there was any doubt left.
I caught my friend from yesterday and am calling her Morrigan. I am almost positive she’s pregnant (going to see if we can scare up some money for vet care), though it’s hard to tell when she’s curled up like that. Mat got a hilarious video of the process of catching her, which resulted in a gash on the palm for him and three tiny punctures for me. Worth it.
She is very shy and does not like being picked up, but doesn’t mind being petted. She’s a lot calmer in here than outside.
